Cleveland Firefighter Johnny Tetrick spent 27 years with the Cleveland Division of Fire, most of it with Engine 22. He was tragically struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while clearing debris from an accident on I-90 East. According to Spectrum News 1, Tetrick was “Always smiling, I was going through pictures and pictures and pictures that we have, that people have been sharing with each other on the job and off the job and there's no picture without Johnny smiling. And that really kind of sums up his personality. He's just a wonderful person to be around and to work with.”
Governor DeWine ordered U.S. and Ohio flags in Cuyahoga County to half-staff November 20, 2022 through interment (November 26, 2022) to honor Cleveland Firefighter Johnny Tetrick.
