An Eastern Kentucky Marine and three other servicemen were honored after their deaths during a dignified transfer ramp ceremony in Bodø, Norway, on Friday before being sent home to the United States, according to military officials.
Cpl. Jacob Moore of Catlettsburg was one of four Marines who died in a helicopter crash earlier this month. The four men were honored by hundreds of Marines and sailors before being placed on an Air National Guard C-130 aircraft for their return home. They arrived at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware later Friday.
The MV-22B Osprey helicopter crash occurred in Norway. The helicopter was reported missing on March 18 and found the next day. In addition to Moore, Capt. Matthew Tomkiewicz, Capt. Ross Reynolds and Gunnery Sgt. James Speedy also died.
